Description

A coleção é composta, sobretudo, por peixes (ósseos e cartilaginosos) e invertebrados marinhos (moluscos, anelídeos, equinodermos, cnidários e crustáceos). Também existem alguns lotes de outros grupos, como tartarugas, aves e mamíferos. Os animais depositados na coleção são oriundos principalmente das pesquisas realizadas pelo CEPSUL por meio de cruzeiros científicos realizados com o Navio de Pesquisa Soloncy Moura, em especial nas unidades de conservação do Sudeste e Sul. Outra fonte importante são as atividades de monitoramento dos desembarques da pesca industrial e artesanal e as coletas realizadas por observador científico a bordo de embarcações comerciais.
