Description
The collection of arachnids and myriapods of the MNRJ is the most important in Latin America, housing about 2,000 type specimens. Partial type catalogue of the lesser orders of arachnids is: Kury, A.B. & Nogueira, André L.C., 1999. Annotated check list of type specimens of Arachnida in the Museu Nacional, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, I. Scorpiones, Pseudoscorpiones and Solifugae.
